New Sitcom Parodies No Win No Fee Business |

No win no fee adverts bombard out television screens as we are constantly encouraged to pursue no win no fee claims against our friends and employers. However, many in the business feel that no win no fee solicitors have suffered from unfair representation in the media, exacerbated by hard nosed television adverts and mocking news stories. The majority of no win no fee claims are brought by people who have suffered a genuine accident and deserve compensation. And the lawyers who represent these people are attempting to win justice for the people, not drain money out of anyone and everyone as some sources may have us believe. Many newspapers report stories of seemingly laughable incidents where injured parties have sought compensation after a seemingly comical accident, such as slipping on a banana skin. The problem is that with these stories the media has a tendency to play up the comic aspect of these incidents, overlooking the fact that real injury was caused and compensation was needed in accordance with the devastating injuries which the victims have to live with. Further parody of the no win no fee business is seen in new sitcom Admin, which is based in a no win no fee solicitors office in Manchester. It follows the work and lives of a group the employees of fictional law firm Fox, Carter & Co. It is based on writer David Isaac’s real life experiences working as a supervising solicitor in a Manchester law firm. |
